This week Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) again won the race at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto. That makes Marquez points back 9 points ahead in the top four.
Marquez got 25 points on Sunday. He once topped the standings and replaced Andrea Dovizioso’s back after he scored points at COTA.
Because of this, Dovizioso is actually now sitting three points from Marquez in third place in the overall standings because Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar Team) was able to secure a sixth successive 11th-place finish with second place. The P2 from the ninth on the grid left the Spaniard one point ahead of Marquez as three separate three riders headed for Le Mans
Then what about Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP)? Well, The Doctor once again dug up some magic Sunday to finish sixth at Jerez from 13 on the grid. Rossi slipped to fourth from second place in the standings but only saw himself sit nine from Marquez.
As we saw in the Spanish GP, many things can change very quickly in the MotoGP ™ World Championship. What does the French GP have in two weeks?
